Marketing and Fundraising Development Manager

Our client a leading school is recruiting a Marketing and Fundraising Development Manager to join the team. The Marketing and Fundraising Development Manager will play a pivotal role in raising the schools profile and generating financial support for key educational and development initiatives. This position combines strategic marketing and targeted fundraising to promote the school's mission, engage the school community, and secure funding to support students, facilities, and programs. The ideal candidate is a creative, organised professional who is passionate about education and experienced in building and managing community and donor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy that highlights the school's values, achievements, and unique programs to attract prospective families and donors.

  • Oversee all school branding and messaging to ensure consistency across digital, print, and in-person communications.

  • Manage content creation for social media, newsletters, the school's website, and other communications channels to enhance engagement with current and prospective families.

  • Track marketing metrics, assess performance, and adjust strategies to maximise outreach and strengthen the school's reputation.

  1. Fundraising & Donor Development
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes events, donations, grants, and corporate partnerships.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, alumni, community partners, and corporate sponsors, ensuring personalised communication and acknowledgment of contributions.

  • Manage the donor database, ensuring accurate record-keeping and recognition of all contributions to foster long-term relationships.

  • Research funding opportunities and write grant proposals to secure financial support for specific school projects and scholarship funds.

  1. Community & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a key representative of the School within the local community, building positive relationships with families, alumni, businesses, and media contacts.

  • Attend community events, educational fairs, and other public forums to strengthen awareness of the school and its offerings.

  • Develop partnerships with local organisations and businesses that align with the school's values and goals, enhancing both visibility and support.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Fundraising, or a related field.

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit management are advantageous.

  • Experience:

  • Proven experience in marketing, fundraising, or development, ideally within the education sector or a nonprofit setting.

  • Demonstrable success in managing marketing campaigns and fundraising initiatives.

  • Experience in event planning, with a strong track record in reaching fundraising targets.

  • Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey the school's mission effectively.

  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.

  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, website management, and donor database software.

  • Creative and strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders including parents, alumni, and local businesses.

  • High level of professionalism, particularly in handling confidential donor and financial information.
