Fantastic opportunity for a corporate communications manager to join a multi-national transport group.

Description

  • Support the rollout of the external and internal communication strategy to engage and widen peoples' knowledge of the group.
  • Identify and develop stories from across the Group and oversee production of a monthly in-house newsletter.
  • Write press releases, blogs, web content and social media posts.
  • Enhance the group's library of multimedia content including photography, video, and audio.
  • Develop a content strategy for the social media channels (working with Head of Public Affairs/Comms)
  • Provide support in building executing an internal communications strategy.
  • Improve the employee engagement scores in those areas relating to internal communications, employee engagement and internal brand reputation, working closely with the HR team.
  • Maintain relationships with national media and transport trade media.
  • Build a close working relationship with the communications managers at the companies bus and rail companies in the UK and overseas.
  • Pitch stories to journalists and bloggers (in order to support overarching aim of a proactive Group external newsroom highlighting company performance and leadership)
  • Show awareness and understanding of the group's policy goals in order to inform PR strategy.

Profile

  • Experience of corporate communications, either through in-house or PR agency roles, including significant experience of media relations.
  • Experience of website and social management.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; able to present clarity and passion when communicating with stakeholders.
  • Outstanding written communications skills, including excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills and the ability to source news stories.
  • Collaborative team player who can influence others across the business.
  • Enthusiastic with high personal motivation and ability to use own initiative.
  • First-rate organisational and strong planning skills.
  • Flexible and pragmatic with a hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to think creatively and make use of channels such as video, animations, and podcasts.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo with the aim of improving the way we do things by influencing others to think differently
  • Knowledge of the public transport industry (desirable)
  • CIPR qualification (desirable)
