About the role... We are currently recruiting for a People Relations (ER) Advisor to join our People Relations team based at our Customer Support Centre in Walsall.

This is an essential role working cross-functionally to provide HR advice, support, and assistance to our Retail and non-retail teams following Company policies, procedures, and best practice.

Reporting into the People Advisor Lead, the People Relations Advisor will play a pivotal role supporting HR Managers, Area Managers, Store Managers, and employees by providing expert advice and support on a range of employee relations matters including disciplinary and grievance procedures, performance improvement and absence management.

A varied role with no two days being the same, you will be someone who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment, whilst prioritising your workload.

The role is hybrid with 2-3 days in our Customer Support Centre in Walsall alongside the wider People team.

Your Impact and Responsibilities... Working as part of a team, the People Relations Advisor would be responsible for:

Phone and Email Support: Manage a high volume of incoming calls and respond to emails from Management Teams, Union Representatives (USDAW) and Colleagues

Legal Compliance: Stay up to date with employment law changes and ensure all employee relations practices are legally compliant.

Issue Resolution: Partner with HR Managers, Area Managers and Store Managers to manage multiple caseloads and assist in resolving employee relations issues such as grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance management.

Employee Guidance: Offer clear and effective advice on all HR matters, policies, and best practice.

Documentation and Administration: Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases and communications, accurately producing reports and letters, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

Skills and Knowledge...

Proven experience of working in An Employee Relations role, ideally within a fast-paced environment such as Retail

Sound knowledge of employment law and ideally, a CIPD or equivalent HR Management degree or similar would be desirable but not essential.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.

Strong people skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain effective working relationships with your stakeholders.

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your own workload and manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Advanced Excel skills with the ability to collate and produce reports.
