Quality Engineer - Manufacturing

Quality Engineer required to join our client who are a leading manufacturer located close to the Sidcup area. Due to their niche product range, the company have been growing effectively year on year and because of this have a brand-new position within the business for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team.

Quality Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Salary £40,000 - £45,000 (Dependant on experience)
  • Bonus structure

Quality Engineer Position Overview

  • Support leadership in driving quality culture and quality improvement within the organisation
  • Providing support to our manufacturing facilities to implement the processes to protect the business against non-conformance
  • Conducting product auditing across multiple stages of the production process against the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensuring customer specifications and expectations are met
  • Establish and implement improvements in quality standards ensuring Production are precisely following process and procedures to ensure repeatable performance.
  • Conduct defect feedback and problem-solving activities
  • Efficiently escalating any quality concerns in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities to improve Quality and implement plans to deliver that improvement
  • Working with our Supply Chain Partners to prevent defects and to provide data and insight into the cause of non-quality across our Manufacturing footprint
  • Sharing best practice across the organisation on management of non-conformance
  • Coaching and supporting problem-solving activities within our manufacturing operation and external supply chain
  • Ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved

Quality Engineer Position Requirements

  • Apprenticeship level or higher in a technical engineering discipline, alongside a background of working in an operational Quality role.
  • Good problem solving, data analysis and presentation skills
  • Proven track-record of business acumen relating to quality, improvement, manufacturing and HSE activities and priorities
  • Knowledge and demonstrable application of Quality and BI tools i.e. 8D investigation, improvement methodologies
  • Able to coach and mentor others
  • Strong Customer focus
  • Working to ISO9001
  • Previous experience working as a Manufacturing / Process Engineer would be beneficial
  • Experience of LEAN or Six Sigma would be beneficial
