Management Accountant

My client are a growing B2B events organisation, orchestrating industry leading corporate events for an enviable portfolio of clients. They have a variety of revenue streams including events, digital information and subscription models. As part of their growth they seek an experienced, commercial management accountant to work closely with the Commercial Finance Manager to proving excellent management reporting and analysis to the operational business.

The role requires ideally a qualified accountant (ACCA /CIMA/ACA) with demonstrable experience in management accounts and provision of analysis alongside good excel skills. You will liaise daily with the operations team to provide commercial finance support and the role has the opportunity to evolve in to a true business partner. As the business grows and evolves they are improving the finance process, experience of finance transformation projects and a desire to get involved in these improvements is a must.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Deliver timely, high quality management information to inform the decision-making of business leaders. This will include monthly management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and other ad-hoc reporting.
  • Manage revenue and cost recognition, including verifying service delivery.
  • Responsible for preparing and posting journals for deferred revenue and prepayments.
  • Responsible for preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations and providing supporting schedules for relevant Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Contribute to continual improvement of processes to drive efficiency and improve effectiveness.
  • Work with Sales Director to create sales commission schemes and targets for the sales team. Calculate commission payments each month for payroll processing.
  • Work closely with outsourced financial services provider to optimise business services.

This is a broad role with a mixture of regular responsibilities and ad-hoc projects. It is a permanent role available on a hybrid basis with 3 days in their central London office.
