Senior Residential Support Worker

Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker for their 2-bed therapeutic service based in Kingstanding. The service is designed to create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where each young person can thrive and reach their full potential.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting their young residents. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day care and support to children and young people with EBD.
  • Implementing individualised therapeutic plans and interventions.
  • Acting as a key worker for specific young people, developing and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Leading and mentoring junior staff, promoting best practices and a therapeutic approach.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports in line with organisational policies.
  • Participating in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and young people with EBD in a residential setting.
  • Flexibility to work on a rolling rota of 2 days on, 4 days off (including sleep in duties)
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic approaches and interventions for children with EBD.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and advocating for the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
