Your New Role

The Head of HR, Group for Hays will act as a strategic thinking partner to several of our Executive Leadership Team and their group functions, for example Technology, Finance, Marketing, Company Secretariat & Legal as well as newly formed areas such as Group Product, Innovation and Data.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will act as a strategic partner to these senior management teams, who are in varying stages of evolution and change. As a key member of the People Leadership Team, you will contribute to the wider organisation's strategic agenda, and challenge and formulate the people priorities and plan for your business areas. With the business embarking on the next stage of its strategic evolution, you will need to have deep expertise in strategic people planning, organisation design and transformation. You will also need to have a strong track record in successfully attracting and developing top talent, creating highly engaged and high performing teams, and driving real progress on DEI and wellbeing.

The Head of HR will provide counsel and support to the management teams in all aspects of how our people 'get in and get on' at Hays, implementing commercially sound HR solutions whilst delivering on appropriate policies and best practice, and executing cyclical people processes such as succession planning, pay review activity etc.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for an engaging leader with the gravitas and experience of operating as a strategic HR business partner, that is equally happy getting sleeves rolled up to ensure delivery. You will demonstrate behaviours that support and reflect the Hays values and be a true advocate and role model for equity, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be:

  • Strong intellect balanced by pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
  • Able to effectively manage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Pragmatic: able to deliver HR guidance in a fast paced, complex environment, and communicates clearly and openly to win support.
  • Business focused; able to deliver commercial solutions which also fit HR best practice requirements and demonstrate excellent execution skills
  • Highly organised
  • Able to problem solve and challenge the 'norm' whilst operating to HR best practice guidelines
  • Comfortable with analysing data, identifying trends and making appropriate recommendations
  • A true advocate and role model for equity, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing
  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
