An award winning financial business based in Cheshire are currently on the lookout for a Data Engineer to join the team as they look to further build out their data team.

As a Data Engineer, you will be crucial in designing, building, and maintaining their data infrastructure. You will collaborate with their Data and Insight Lead and other stakeholders to ensure data accessibility and quality, optimizing data flow and collection to support data-driven decision-making across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ETL Processes: Design, construct, and maintain ETL processes using Azure Data Factory to integrate data from various sources into the Azure SQL database.
  • Data Pipelines: Develop and implement data pipelines to ensure smooth data flow across systems.
  • Database Management: Manage databases to store data in a structured, organized, and secure manner, making it accessible for analysis and reporting.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation detailing data integration and pipeline processes to enhance operational efficiency and support continuous improvement.
  • Data Transformation: Transform raw data into meaningful, formatted data through complex procedures in Azure SQL, ensuring data consistency and quality.
  • SQL Queries: Query existing SQL databases to provide information to stakeholders on request.
  • Process Improvement: Review and evaluate current processes, suggesting improvements to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Power Query & Power BI: Utilize Power Query to import data from SQL, ensuring thorough data cleaning and preparation before proceeding with data modeling in Power BI.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and develop effective data solutions.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a data engineering or similar role.
  • Experience with Azure SQL database, Azure Data Factory, Power Automate, and Power Query.
