Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding or similar qualification

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years

Site Card: Valid SPA/CSCS/CCNSG

Main Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabrication and welding duties with a strong emphasis on quality. TIG, MIG, and Stick welding experience is preferable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and Welding: Perform TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on mild steel and stainless steel for various systems and clients.
  • Interpretation of Documentation: Read, interpret, and fabricate from sketches, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures.
  • Steel Construction Layout: Efficiently lay out steel construction with a high degree of accuracy prior to welding.
  • Component Handling: Measure, cut, bend, and weld steel components for construction.
  • Installation and Repair: Include installation and repair works as part of your duties.
  • Trial Period: Complete a trial period successfully to secure permanent employment.

Key Tasks and Abilities

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Valid Site Card: SPA/CSCS/CCNSG.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a small, well-established team and with other trades.
  • Technical and Practical Skills: Strong technical skills combined with practical know-how, with a willingness to pass on skills and knowledge.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Ability to work to timescales, using own initiative both individually and as part of a team.
  • Positive Attitude: A positive and proactive approach is crucial.
  • Communication: Good communication skills are essential.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility with overtime working is required.
  • Previous Codings: Proof of previous codings is beneficial.
  • Travel Willingness: Willingness to work out of town occasionally is a bonus.
  • Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is an advantage but not required. Opportunities for career advancement will arise based on skill set and leadership qualities.
  • Quality, Health and Safety, and COSHH Knowledge: Candidates are expected to have a broad skill base and knowledge of these areas.
