Commercial Analyst (Data & Insights)
Chester - This is a permanent role in Chester working 3 days onsite during the week.
Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of our well-respected tech client for a Commercial Data Analyst. We're looking for talented and motivated individuals who can offer technical proficiency in SQL, Excel and experience in building dashboards, as well as confident and clear communication skills to present your insights to internal and external stakeholders.

The role
As a Commercial Analyst your role will be to support the development, integration, and growth of the business by utilising the data assets they collect.
Processing over half a million customers per month our client collects thousands of data points per customer, and there are many insights and opportunities to be found within this data. You'll get to use your data skills to find these and work with the commercial teams to share with external stakeholders.
Typical Responsibilities
- Generating and maintaining dashboards for use internally and externally
- Creating and presenting bespoke insights for external stakeholders so partners and providers make the most of using products.
- Identifying opportunities within the data - Identifying variables that hold influence on customers matching with products and then using this knowledge to implement new product rules and opportunities, which ultimately helps match more customers with more products.
- Working closely with the finance dept. to pull commercial data across the business into a consistent format across the business, plus supporting Finance investigating differences in invoicing on a monthly basis.
You and what we're looking for in your application
For this role as a Commercial Analyst we're looking for candidates who can demonstrate competence in both technical data analysis and commercial analysis, with the ability to communicate your findings confidently and concisely with external stakeholders.
We're seeking candidates with;
- Experience working in an analytically minded role with attention to detail and an interest in identifying patterns in data.
- Recent experience analysing data as a key part of that role
- Proficiency in SQL & Excel.
- Experience building dashboards (something like Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, Quicksight is acceptable)
- Creating and presenting analysis for internal & external stakeholders.
- Advantageous if you've previously worked in financial services (e.g. consumer/retail finance )
- Any previous working knowledge of Python would also be a bonus.
