About You

In this role you will work as part of a team and be accountable for supporting and deputising for the Registered Manager in a service that is registered with the Care Quality Commission. You will be required to ensure the service is well led, effective, responsive, safe and caring and be able to adapt and prepare for the new approach to inspection.

You will support the management of the staff, the welfare of the people we care for, allocated budgets, resources and the fabric of the building. You will promote a high standard of practice in accordance with organisational policy & procedure & national regulation by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Practicing at a senior level, you will oversee and develop the training needs of the team. You will be responsible for leading and actively engaging with challenging casework, providing supervision, expertise and guidance.

About Tozer House

Tozer House is a forward thinking residential & short break service for adults who have learning disabilities within central Chichester. We offer a warm welcome coming in under our beautiful magnolia tree and offering a range of activities such as our group work out sessions, to our singing groups.

We can accommodate 15 people across two separate buildings, each of which has separate adapted facilities. Providing high quality care and support, ensuring people who have learning disabilities and autism who are supported by the team at Tozer House live a full life where they are at the centre of having choice and control over their everyday lives.

Experience and skills

Qualifications and experience:

  • Professional Health or Social Care Qualification e.g. CQSW, DipSw, RNLD, CSS, or equivalent qualification or demonstrable equivalent comparable experience.
  • Relevant theoretical, organisational, procedural and policy knowledge relating to the specialist professional area e.g. adult protection issues, health and safety, etc.
  • Knowledge of the principles of positive behaviour support and communication through behaviour.
  • Detailed knowledge relating to the management of a team, its function and service delivery.
  • Significant experience of working in care settings relevant to this role.
