Overview:

  • A major UK bank with over 165 branches nationwide is seeking an experienced Data Steward to join their Risk Models and Data team
  • you will support the data governance activities of the Risk function, embedding the bank's data governance framework and ensuring consistent data management across the organization.

  • Salary up to £500-£600/day - Inside IR35 - PAYE
  • This is a hybrid role, requiring 2/3 days per week in the London office.

They have an established Head Office functional structure and a dedicated Wealth and Asset Management division. Role Overview

In this role, you will support the data governance activities of the Risk function, embedding the bank's data governance framework and ensuring consistent data management across the organization. You will identify and remediate data quality issues, perform data lineage activities, act as a liaison between functions, and provide training on data governance topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify data quality issues, root causes, and support remediation
  • Prepare materials for data governance forums, including KPIs and metrics
  • Perform data lineage for various business outcomes within Risk
  • Act as a liaison between Risk, other functions, IT, and data users
  • Provide training and support on data governance to Risk function users

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant data governance experience in financial services
  • Degree in computer science, information management, data science, or similar
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and data quality principles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Knowledge of SAS and SQL is desirable but not mandatory
  • Proactive and organized approach
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements
