Science Technician – September Start

We are currently collaborating with a well-regarded and dynamic secondary school in North London, seeking a motivated and skilled Science Technician to join their thriving Science Department from September 2024.

The Role

As the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring a secure and engaging learning environment for students. You will assist students during practical activities, organise materials, and maintain equipment, ensuring all resources for lessons are properly set up. Afternoon responsibilities may include supporting after-school science clubs, providing hands-on assistance, and promoting a safe working environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Organise, maintain, and store apparatus, equipment, and resources used in classrooms and labs, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
  • Provide support to teaching staff by overseeing experiments, helping students with hands-on tasks, and offering technical assistance in labs and classrooms.
  • Oversee the care, safety, and upkeep of laboratories, including equipment, services, and workspaces.
  • Manage stock levels of chemicals and equipment, keeping accurate inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Promote and maintain a healthy, safe environment for both staff and students in the department.
