A Logistics Operations Manager is required to oversee the UK inbound logistics operation for one of our clients key customers.

Our client is a leading logistics and supply chain management provider.

Description

As the Logistics Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the 4PL model that ensures the inbound logistics in to our clients key customer locations in the UK. Reporting in to the Director of Operations you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Responsible for all planning (e.g. route validation; implementing new routes) and operational activities within customer locations.
  • Leading and developing an international team of logistics specialists to ensure successful execution of daily operations.
  • Manage and optimise transport operations on the different sites in UK.
  • Managing and optimising the daily flow of goods and guaranteeing incidents management to the satisfaction of our customers.
  • Communicating regularly with customers regarding the status of operations and planning.
  • Monitoring logistics performance and costs.
  • Analysing network metrics to determine and drive continuous improvement measures.
  • Delivering operational excellence by ensuring the application of the agreed standards.

Profile

The Logistics Operations Manager will live within commuting distance of our clients key location in Bedfordshire and be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Management experience within a 4PL / control tower environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in managing inbound logistics, including road freight/transport planning.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role and developing a team.
  • Results-driven attitude with strong customer orientation.
  • Adaptability to new situations and peak operation periods, with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills.

Job Offer
