Are you an enthusiastic and innovative Design Technology teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a thriving secondary school? Accelerate Teaching is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Wakefield, seeking an experienced Teacher of Design Technology to join their dynamic team from September 2024.

About the Role: As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your creative approach and passion for the subject will help nurture the next generation of designers, engineers, and technologists. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Develop and implement an innovative curriculum that stimulates students' interest in Design Technology.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department's resources and extracurricular activities.

Requirements: We are looking for a candidate who is dedicated, inspiring, and well-organised, with a proven track record in teaching Design Technology. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Design Technology or a related subject.
  • Significant experience teaching Design Technology at the secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for lifelong learning.
