Job Title: Night Shift Training Manager

Purpose of Role:

To provide hands-on training, mentorship, and support to all shop floor Operators. The role ensures all operators are competent and skilled in standardised working practices, leading to improved line performance, quality, consistency, and accuracy across Production and Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the HR team to identify and induct new agency starters and ensure a dedicated schedule for training
  • Ensure agency workers receive feedback on Days 1-5 and participate in a review meeting after 2 weeks.
  • Monitor and log agency worker progress, with sign-offs from the Shift Manager after Day 1, Day 5, and Week 2.
  • Facilitate new starters' participation in the Food Safety Culture Quiz on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th weeks post-induction.
  • Deliver hands-on training across the site, ensuring operators meet satisfactory standards.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for existing and new equipment.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a skills matrix to track key competencies and identify refresher training needs.
  • Assist with new equipment and capital project training requirements, ensuring procedures are in place.
  • Provide training and development support for operators using factory systems.
  • Work closely with Shift Managers to deliver development plans for team members.
  • Identify areas requiring additional training support, in collaboration with Managers, Supervisors, and the Company Trainer.
  • Assist in delivering compliance training, including Food Safety, Hygiene, and the Golden 7.
  • Foster a "safety first" mindset and promote responsibility for Health & Safety during all training sessions.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards.

Essential:

  • Experience working in a Food Production environment.
  • Knowledge of Food Production processes and capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills (including cross-functional communication).
  • Structured, pragmatic, and organised approach.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexible, resilient, and persistent.
  • A strong team player who is resourceful.

Desirable:

  • Food Hygiene Level 3
  • HACCP Level 2
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate
  • Train the Trainer qualification
