Male Learning Assistant - Northampton

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant. You will work with a small group of 5-6 pupils, aged 11-16, who require additional support due to challenging behaviours. This role demands strong behaviour management skills and a proactive approach to fostering a positive learning environment.

Male candidate required due to the nature of the role and the specific needs of the pupils.

High level of written and spoken English required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with challenging behaviours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour to inform future support strategies.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, promoting trust and respect.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with challenging behaviours.
  • Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to remain calm and assertive in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
