Northampton (Fully Site-Based Role)

Salary: Up to £35,000

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

We are currently supporting a Northampton-based firm in their search for an experienced HR Advisor, this is a fantastic opportunity for a HR professional to take on a role where 75% of the work will involve Employee Relations (ER), making it an ideal fit for someone with a background in handling complex ER cases. As the HR Advisor, you will be responsible for a broad range of HR duties, with a strong emphasis on casework, including investigations, disciplinaries, appeals, absence management, and performance management. You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage complex ER cases with professionalism and sensitivity, ensuring the best outcomes for both the business and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on complex ER matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and performance issues.
  • Manage casework from start to finish, including investigations, disciplinaries, and occupational health cases.
  • Support the implementation of performance management processes, including appraisals and development plans.
  • Offer advice on compliance with employment law and company policies
  • Assist with policy development, ensuring that HR practices are up to date and in line with current legislation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide HR support across the business.

The Candidate

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar HR role (HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, etc.), with significant ER exposure.
  • Proven experience handling complex ER cases and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all processes are followed correctly and efficiently.
  • Experience in healthcare - desired but not essential
