Senior Accountant

Reed Recruitment are working with a local business and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join the companies finance team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is ideal for a professional who excels in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, and is looking for a challenging opportunity in Brighton.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and reports for management.
- Analyse financial data and provide forecasting support.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintaining a clean ledger.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns, ensuring timely submissions.
- Lead and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with finance team members to improve financial procedures and controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Sharp time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA) is highly desirable.
