Sales Ledger and Credit Controller Supervisor - 6 months FTC

We are pleased to offer a new opportunity for a Sales Ledger and Credit Controller Supervisor to join our Finance department for a 6 month fixed term contract.

In this role you manage transactions processing and credit control for one of our subsidiaries, lead credit control and systems administration pertaining to Ledgers and deal with general administration. You will also supervise the work of the Sales ledger/Credit Controllers.

  • Be responsible for and oversee the accurate and timely issuing of all sales invoices.
  • Ensuring that the accounting transactions for sales invoices and credit notes are promptly and accurately entered into the Access Dimensions accounting system.
  • Maintain and implement a comprehensive schedule detailing the invoices to be raised each month for one of the subsidiaries.
  • Check and ensure that all other billing schedules have been updated.
  • Oversee system maintenance, debtor account code set up, reporting to Financial Services Manager on these matters.
  • Complete billing schedules indicating all invoices are despatched accurately and on time.
  • Supervise and support the work of the sales ledger/credit controllers including shadowing or attending service manager meetings.
  • Ad hoc duties as required including providing cover for the team and the Financial Service Manager.

Our ideal candidate looks like this!

  • 5 GCSE's (including English & Maths), AAT, Part qualified ACCA / Degree or any other similar qualification (essential).
  • Experience in staff supervision and management of a medium sized team (essential).
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role (essential).
  • Experience of computerised accounting packages, ideally, Access Dimensions; databases and MS Office Applications particularly Excel to intermediate level (essential).
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping double entry system and account reconciliation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met, with the ability to be self-motivating and undertake tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Have supervisory skills to be able to manage a staff team.
  • Be a team player.
