An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Manager to join an established and successful SME manufacturing business. This key role has been created due to internal promotion. As the Planning Manager, you will provide robust production and material planning to ensure the timely delivery of the production schedule, aligning customer call-offs with factory capabilities.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate products through the manufacturing cycle, ensuring alignment with revenue targets.
  • Engage with customers to plan call-offs that meet both customer needs and business capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including purchasing, design, and the factory, to ensure programmes are fulfilled on time.
  • Balance cell capacity by working with the factory manager to align customer demands with factory resources.
  • Maintain an accurate understanding of products, processes, and materials to optimize planning and production.
  • Analyse production processes for improvement opportunities and report weekly on production targets.
  • Communicate and influence stakeholders at various levels within and outside the organisation.
  • Resolve customer product and programme queries by coordinating with relevant departments.
  • Schedule deliveries to meet customer expectations and logistical practicalities.
  • Coordinate site surveys to facilitate timely manufacturing processes.
  • Work with the estimating department to provide manufacturing times for tenders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in production planning, ideally within lean manufacturing.
  • Construction industry experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail and conscientious work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and meeting targets.
