We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Affairs Executive to join the team!

As a Corporate Affairs Executive, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering communications that align with our overall Corporate Affairs strategy, aimed at protecting and enhancing the company's image and reputation. Collaborating closely with the Corporate Affairs Planning Manager and the broader team, you will support efforts to interpret reputational opportunities and challenges, generate innovative ideas, and coordinate communication plans across the department. Your role will also involve managing administrative tasks, timelines, and team inputs to ensure critical deadlines are met.

What you'll be doing:

  • Create engaging content for social media, website, and press releases.
  • Support the development and coordination of strategies to mitigate reputational risk, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and agencies.
  • Manage and optimise social media content to enhance reach and engagement.
  • Update and monitor campaign activities against the timing plan.
  • Assist in the administration of reputational risk governance processes.
  • Use a document and action tracking system to manage Reputational Risk Committee and Working Groups.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify and mitigate potential reputational risks.
  • Monitor social media channels, identifying and flagging emerging issues.
  • Monitor media, political, and public sentiment to proactively address potential issues.
  • Manage media relations, monitor company media coverage, and share press cuttings with the business.
  • Support the development of crisis communication plans.
  • Assist in creating and managing key departmental documents to ensure consistency and governance in communications.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Educated to Degree level (or above)
  • Excellent communication and creative skills
  • Experience (and confidence) of senior stakeholder management in a media/PR or Corporate Affairs context
  • Experience of project/campaign management
  • Experience creating content for multiple audiences and channels in a corporate context
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a busy newsroom or agency,
  • Familiar with reactive reputational issues
  • Experience of the Utilities sector is desirable
