Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for an Regional Operations Manager to join our team. This role will be regionally based covering our South-East operational teams. Actual working location will be determined based on the applications; however, we will be looking for someone to cover our Peterborough and Luton depots.

You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday- Friday, 45 hours a week and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £65'000 per annum.

The Regional Operations Manager role:

This is a fantastic role for a natural leader! Your role will oversee the a number of Transport and Warehousing services, ensuring all activities meet company objectives, key performance indicators and statutory requirements.

We have 9 depots and over 375 vehicles carrying chilled and frozen food all over the country. We're the only company providing a 24-hour service of this kind, and we're very good at it.

What you'll be doing as our Regional Operations Manager

  • Ensure all activities within their remit are conducted in accordance with company and legal requirements and corrective and preventative actions are taken to ensure overall standards are met and a culture of continuous improvement is embedded
  • Ensure all activities are managed in accordance with KPIs and standards set by the business
  • Contribute to the development of budgets within their designated area and ensure all necessary controls and records are in place for appropriate expenditure and informed investment decisions
  • Lead and coach management colleagues to ensure all staff development requirements are met and there is sufficient cover between teams and personal development plans in place
  • Handle complex customer-related complaints, ensuring an appropriate and timely follow-up and any learning outcomes are shared with relevant colleagues
  • Support managers to resolve staff-related matters so that disruption to the operation and legal claims are prevented
  • Consult with and involve colleague representatives in management decision-making affecting the operation overall and share suggestions for improvement with senior management
  • Arrange, chair and attend company events and meetings for staff and customers where required

What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Regional Operations Manager?

  • Level 5 in Management or equivalent
  • CPC qualification would be advantageous but not essential
  • Extensive experience of delivering successful results within the Logistics sector or a customer-orientated industry
  • Proven experience in a leadership role involving multiple and dispersed staff teams
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data

  • Ability to write informative business reports and present information to others using a variety of methods
  • Able to support, motivate and coach staff to maximise individual and team performance
  • Competent in using initiative to maximise resources in order to ascertain effective solutions
  • Able to work to fluid targets and deadlines
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages
