Security Officer

About The Role
We have a vacancy for a Security Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for protecting the security and safety of the identified buildings and personnel at a busy client site. You will ensure that assigned tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislations.

This security role is a zero hours contract but hours available to cover holidays, sickness and eventually working your way to a full-time permanent position.

We require someone who will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times.

When dealing with members of the public or when dealing with our client, their visitors, the tenants and other persons, you will show a welcoming and friendly manner whilst making sure that the appropriate level of site security is maintained at all times.

As the first point of contact for to all customers and clients, our security staff must have a good level of understanding and appreciation of their surroundings - sometimes you will be an ambassador, a guide, a helper, an expert in the local area. As a trusted employee, you are often the only person that represents who we are and what our clients do!

You will be working, 7 days per week, day shifts and night shifts, 06:00 to 20:00, as a casual worker to cover sick and holidays.

Your main responsibilities may also include:

  • Acting as a first line support to employees and visitors to site, providing a professional and friendly service.
  • Fire, security and building systems monitoring.
  • Service area barrier control and traffic management.
  • Patrol the exterior of the site and the site carparks, liaising with visitors and tenants alike.

To succeed in this role you will need the following:

  • Experience of working within the Security Industry is an advantage
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • A professional demeanour with sound judgement and integrity
  • You must be confident in speaking on the phone / radio, and responding to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • You must also hold a valid SIA Security or Door Supervisor license (CCTV an advantage) this can be done at a later dated.
  • A flexible approach to work; , as various shifts are available through this 24 hour operation.
  • You need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be confident in talking, explaining and instructing - sometimes, what we do needs a very assertive character.
