My client:

My Client arranges "A" Rated, 10 or 12 Year Structural Warranty insurance and construction performance bonds for house builders, local authorities and housing associations across the UK.

They work closely with their clients on a range of project types: New build residential projects, mixed-use projects, Commercial projects, Local authority projects, Housing Association/Social Housing projects. They work with an established network of professionals to provide construction bond solutions.

They have extensive experience in arranging: Road & Sewer Bonds, Performance Bonds Retention Bonds. Their experienced and professional team of Building Surveyors work across the UK providing specialist expertise and technical advice. Their robust, multi-stage inspection process helps to reduce risk, delivering more projects on time which are right first-time

Summary of role:

My client are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Executive to join our team at Global Home Warranties Ltd. In this role, you will drive business growth and development across your assigned locations. Your key responsibilities include raising the profile of Global Home Warranties, identifying new business opportunities within the structural insurance warranty market, and securing projects through strong customer relationships. As a brand ambassador, you will consistently promote our company values and ethos. You will have annual targets tailored to your role, with regular reviews conducted by the Head of Sales.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a contact between the company and its existing and potential markets engaging with developers, builders, self-builders, architects, engineers, local authorities and solicitors.
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining business relationships with clients and prospective clients in you assigned area of work.
  • Issuing of timely quotations to clients, and appropriate follow-up service.
  • Liaising with potential clients to attend sales meetings and closing deals.
  • Ensuring relationships with existing customers are maintained in person and via telephone calls and emails.
  • Working closely with the administration team, client management team and building surveyors to ensure that communication and business continuity is maintained.
  • Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries.
  • Identifying potential business leads and carrying out follow up calls/emails.
  • Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
  • Keeping abreast of all our competitors and their products, pricing and engagement throughout the region.
  • Accurate recording of quotes and sales information on the correct systems.
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
  • Supplying weekly updates to the Commercial Director oral or written as requested.
  • Other duties as and when required by the Managers and Directors.

Essential Competencies/ Knowledge and Skills required for the role:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's (Grades A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English.
  • Proven sales experience of 2 years - construction or insurance sales would be greatly beneficial.
  • IT literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
  • Desirable to have sales experience within the Insurance Market.
  • Essential that candidates have a proven track record of annual sales margins and targets being met.
  • Be able to demonstrate exceptional customer relationship-building skills and experience.
  • Desire to succeed, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • An energetic and innovative approach to customers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale.
  • Ability to work flexibly, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales and deadlines of others.
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and confidentially with a wider range of stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, managing their own diary and planning meetings.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Full Drivers licence.
