IT Apprentice

Duties:

As an apprentice, you'll take on various responsibilities like troubleshooting technical problems, monitoring systems and software, speaking with customers, managing support tickets, and much more.

What you'll do at work:

  • Provide 1st line support and manage IT issues
  • Installing and configure hardware/software
  • Proactive server monitoring and maintenance
  • Support with password resets, permissions and account creation.
  • Resolving technical issues effectively
  • Learn how to use the IT tools and techniques required to fulfil the main duties and responsibilities of IT professionals in the workplace

Required Skills:

  • Windows experience, Building computers
  • Experience with computer components and how they work
  • Reliable
  • Able to adapt and cope with new situations or change and have good problem solving skills
  • Good at listening and comfortable when communicating with new people
  • Enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills and help others
  • Team player with ability to work independently

It will be beneficial if you have additional technical qualifications, ranging from ECDL / ICDL or equivalent, COMPTIA A+ or SERVER+, etc.

Working hours: Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 5:00pm (which occasional out of hours work)

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
