Your construction knowledge and sharp negotiation skills will be key in sourcing high-quality materials at the lowest possible prices. You will work closely with their project managers, suppliers, and contractors to keep their projects running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase materials, tools, and equipment required for construction projects.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
- Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory.
- Assist in budget preparation and cost control measures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a buying/purchasing role within the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of securing favourable terms.
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office and procurement software.
