Configuration Engineer

Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Configuration Engineer. Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This Configuration Engineer position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration of Landing Gears between different aircraft and operators. The successful candidate will be required to ensure that the production facility has the required scope of work for a given event and offer expert advice to allow them to complete the task.

Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Create and issue work packages for Landing Gear assembly and release considering the ongoing aircrafts configuration and customer's individual needs.
  • Reading and understanding aircraft publications so to produce work instructions to the production departments. Documents include but not limited to Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM's), Aircraft Illustrated Parts List (IPC), Service Bulletins (SB's).
  • Provide technical support to the production departments ensuring customer requirements are being adhered to and configuration queries are answered in a timely manner.
  • Working with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services (LTLGS) SAP system to ensure work instructions are clear and accurate.
  • Use the company SAP system to define material requirements based on the ongoing configuration.
  • Aid in continuous improvements to ensure the department is efficient and always learning. This includes providing feedback to processes within the company's quality management system and updating the company's SAP material control system.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Ideally the candidate shall have extensive (5+years) experience within the Aerospace industry, ideally working on aircraft configuration control at an MRO facility.
  • Experience of working with production control packages (MRP / ERP). Experience of SAP would be desirable.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages.
  • Good communication skills and be able to work as part of a global company.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the aircraft publications arena, ideally with EASA 145 / CAMO / Part M airworthiness compliance experience. Efficient in reading and understanding Aircraft documentation required.
  • Experience of Boeing data system is desirable.

Office based with some production floor environment around chemicals. Office flex position (overtime given back time off).
