Mouldshop Production Manager

Premier Work Support are hiring for an (Injection) Mouldshop (and Extrusion) Production Manager with manufacturing experience to support our clients Production team of 60+ employees (days and nights). This is a permanent, full-time position: working hours Monday 8am- 6pm Tuesday - Thursday 7am - 6pm & Friday 7am-1pm.

You will be responsible for the planning and organisation of their busy Mouldshop. Our client's Mouldshop consists of 40 injection mould machines ranging from 25 Ton machines to 668 Ton,they also have 5 extruder lines and 3 flexible PVC machines.

You'll also effectively manage the team including training, health and safety, sickness, holiday etc. Leadership skills are essential and people management experience is key.

The position will be working closely with the Mouldshop Technical Manager.

As a Mouldshop Production Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with other members of management to correct any production issues.
  • Proficient with lean techniques (5S)
  • Managing day to day activities of the Production team
  • Increasing efficiency of the Production team through regular coaching.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety obligations are met, working closely with the group Health & Safety Manager.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure continuity of supply to production and goods out.
  • Supporting quality management, waste reduction and environmental sustainability targets.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to deliver Mouldshop improvement plan.

To be successful you will ideally have the following experience and skillset:

  • Previous experience working as a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of various assembly and manufacturing environments.
  • Good knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing methods (5S).
  • A confident communicator with other members of staff and senior management.
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team.
  • Experience with automated based manufacturing would be desirable.
