Not for Profit Communications Manager

My client is a not-for-profit organisation based in Bolton that support people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, and older people, including those with dementia by offering a number of services such as day centres, support staff to assist people to live independently, activities, holidays, hydra pool, events.

They are looking for a Communications Manager to come on board, working with the new MD, to create and implement a new external and internal communications strategy, build a comms team and raise the profile of an organisation that offers life changing support within the community.

This role is open to people looking to work full time or 4 days a week and the hybrid model is 2 days home and 3 days office. The postholder will need to have their own transport and valid drivers license as the role will involve travelling to the various sites around Bolton, Wigan and Salford.

You will be responsible for helping to shape and implement an exciting new phase of communications delivery for the organisation. Working directly with the MD, you will help create a communications strategy that will position organisation as a sector-leading, growth-ready, innovative care company, one that is making a difference daily to the people it supports through the work of its dedicated colleagues.

You will also actively work to assist in the writing and amplification of this messaging and will take point in recruiting an additional communications team member, initially to service the communications function, with potential scope to further grow the team as the company achieves growth over time.

You will manage the company's communications budget and be responsible for:

  • Communications strategy
  • Internal and external communications
  • Brand development and amplification
  • Creative content development, management and delivery across all channels including website, newsletters and social media
  • Media relations including local/regional/national trade press
  • Recruiting and line managing one new team member initially
