Formed in 2015, Reed Wellbeing has expanded rapidly, developing, and delivering evidence-based lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Guided by psychologists, dietitians, physical activity experts and other specialists our local teams support people to make sustainable, positive behavioural changes using engaging and interactive interventions that address individuals' needs.

We deliver our services in the heart of communities, working with local public, private and voluntary partners. We currently provide a range of adult health and wellbeing services in over 20 local authorities. Services include diabetes prevention, weight management, physical activity (including GP referral), smoking cessation, intensive personal support, healthy eating and drinking, health checks and other healthy lifestyle promotion, outreach, support and training services - either directly or through trusted partners.

What is the role about?

Health & Wellbeing Engagement and Delivery Coaches at Reed Wellbeing are key to delivering evidence-based health interventions. They engage and deliver diabetes prevention programmes, supporting participants to achieve their health goals. Coaches are assigned to service streams based on contract size and complexity, and are responsible for community engagement, programme delivery, and participant support. They receive support and development across all service areas. Reed Wellbeing expects full adherence to company policies including data protection, health and safety, diversity, and safeguarding

  • Regular travel within the region--Candidate must have driving license and access to a vehicle

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include

Engagement:

  • Establish relationships with GP Practices and local communities.
  • Signpost participants to resources and services.
  • Attend promotional events and manage participant retention.

Compliance:

  • Capture contract-specific data and comply with reporting requirements.
  • Assess venue suitability and address data errors.

Delivery:

  • Deliver services effectively and tailor them to participant needs.
  • Create a constructive learning environment and manage group dynamics.
  • Use coaching techniques and respond to feedback.

Self-development & Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in training and professional development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback for service improvement.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of coaching or facilitating diverse participant groups.
  • Experience of/interest in working with groups to achieve sustained behavioural or lifestyle improvements.
  • Experience of working to targets and driving performance improvement.
  • Ability to establish an effective and appropriate rapport with key stakeholders and participants.
  • An understanding of health-related behaviour change.
  • Active listening skills whilst maintaining a non-judgemental perspective on participant's lifestyle, weight, and health.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and accurately, information regarding an individual's health and weight.
  • Ability to coach individuals and groups to identify solutions and develop knowledge and skills to support behavioural change.
  • Demonstrable time management and personal organisation skills with the capacity to monitor, evaluate and report on work carried out.
  • Willingness to undertake evening and weekend work as required.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel in order to deliver programmes across designated region.

Desirable Qualifications

  • REPs Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification or equivalent;
  • or Level 3 qualification in health improvement or promotion or public health or equivalent (eg. City & Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent);
  • or Level 3 qualification in nutrition;
  • or Level 3 Training qualification (eg. PTTLs/Award in Education & Training)
