Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with one of the world's biggest names in TV and Film on their search for an HR Manager to join their dynamic team.

The Business:

As one of the biggest producers of household-name television programmes, our client has made a name for themselves as experts in entertainment. Available across 15 territories, our client specialises in high-quality non-scripted entertainment shows, as well as enticing and exciting high-end dramas, winning the group a number of major industry awards including Emmys and BAFTAs. This role sits within the business' group function, overseeing several subsidiaries and labels led by our generations' top creative talent.

Their modern, dynamic, and bustling creative HQ is based in London and boasts an exciting and passionate culture. As a business, they prioritize growth, development, and learning. This role is hybrid, with 3 days in-office and 2 days WFH.

The Role

Reporting to a friendly and knowledgeable Head of HR, this HR Manager will be responsible for supporting across the entire HR function for the group. Working in a small team, your role is to support the Head of HR and mentor an HR Coordinator to support the successful running of the group's HR function (including oversight of payroll, which is outsourced). You'd be joining the business through an exciting and transformational time, so you'd be responsible for determining where policies could be implemented and updated- and have the opportunity to action those changes.

Additionally, you will have the chance to lead on employee relations work, including grievances, performance management, bereavement, and redundancies, so strong communication skills are a must.

Ultimately-you're free to make this role your own. This position has a wide range of duties that provide you with the opportunity to learn and grow-no two days are the same, and with the ability to take point on and lead many process implementation and employee relations matters, you'll have the chance to develop your skillset each day.

The ideal candidate will have previous HR experience and be at least CIPD Level 5, ideally Level 7. This is a fast-paced environment, so someone with high emotional intelligence, the ability to creatively approach issues and challenges, and an adaptable mindset would suit this role and business.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, publish, and implement new company-wide HR policies, taking initiative to determine gaps in current policies
  • Take point on employee relations matters
  • Liaise with stakeholders and managers within the business
  • Oversee performance management, grievance, redundancy, and onboarding/offboarding processes
  • Contribute to and oversee monthly payroll processing
  • Provide mentorship to a Junior HR professional
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the Head of HR

What we need to see (essential):

  • CIPD Level 5-7
  • Payroll oversight experience

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Workday experience
  • Previous experience in the Media/Creative/Entertainment industries

Salary: £50,000-£55,000 DOE

Location: London

Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote (work from home)
