The Role:

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to support the learning and development of the students. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support to individual learners, ensuring they can access the curriculum and develop key life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities and lesson delivery.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who may require additional help with their learning.
  • Supporting students with special educational needs and implementing personalised learning strategies.
  • Helping to create a safe and supportive classroom environment.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
  • Assisting in the planning of engaging and creative activities.
  • Monitoring and reporting student progress to teaching staff and parents when necessary.

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health needs (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • A commitment to the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a similar role or a passion for working with children and young people.
