Accounting Co-ordinator

Are you looking to begin your career in finance, switch to this exciting profession, or needing more flexibility on your current career? We are recruiting for a part - time Accounting Coordinator to join a fantastic company in Whiteley for a 12 month contract!

Purpose of the Role

Support all members of the Finance Operations Team to achieve their business objective of delivering a high quality, consistent service to finance and business customers.

Qualifications, professional knowledge and Skills

  • This is an entry level finance role. Candidates must have an evidenced finance career growth mindset and be looking to develop a career within finance having started or interested in studying for an appropriate qualification.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of O365 tools including TEAMS, Intermediate level Excel, SharePoint (document management and SharePoint site management), MS Tasks by Planner and Word. Basic SAP skills preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a proactive approach to supporting appropriate stakeholders across the immediate and extended team.
  • Excellent people skills, with confidence & credibility to challenge all levels of staff within GBF on process compliance matters.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with logical and structured approach to work.

Accountability's

  • Help the Finance Operations team with basic regular finance tasks eg raising invoices, gathering finance knowledge and information from customers across the business.
  • Monitor the shared mailbox ensuring all queries are assigned to team members and follow up on completion.
  • Assisting with basic ad hoc finance queries and tasks eg setting up standard templates, preparing draft documents, answering basic SAP data requests, manipulating large datasets to enable the rest of the team to respond to queries.
  • Roll forward standard month end documents eg accruals templates, cost transfer data, Planner tasks
  • Monitor and embed consistent use of tools and processes eg SharePoint and MS Planner, including monitoring permissions and correct use of metadata to file documents.
  • Assist GBF team members with use of tools and templates if necessary and monitoring consistency.
  • Responsible for consistent format of published documents, reports and presentations.
  • Maintain links and permissions on active SharePoint sites to ensure all remain current and relevant.
  • Take actions and write up minutes of team meetings and monitor completion of actions via an action log.
  • Assist Accounting Service Manager with onboarding new recruits by using the onboarding tracker, making relevant service requests for system access and equipment.
  • Adhere to Finance Operations specific, and wider finance and business policies and procedures.
