Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a dedicated Site Assistant for a temporary, full-time position with immediate start within a large specialist school located in Bournemouth.
The school is a large specialist school catering for approximately 109 pupils, most of whom have an Education Health and Care Plan. The school has open grounds with sports fields to the front and rear, and has modern Science, IT, Cookery, Art and Sports facilities. The school is made up of two sites.
As the Site Assistant, you will be responsible for the health and safety of the school site, working with the site team to ensure all works are completed to an good standard. You will carry out a range of duties to provide safety, security and maintenance of the Academy's premises in accordance with health and safety legislation, ensuring that the accommodation is fit for purpose.
Other requirements of the role will include:
- Project maintenance work such as gutter cleaning, painting, fence and parameter upkeep and repairs
- Maintain and organise records of stock held for cleaning, maintenance and sanitary supplies
- Ensuring building repairs are completed in a timely manner
- Identifying and reporting of building, furnishing or fitting deficiencies and undertake any remedial action that may be authorised and appropriate.
The salary for this role is currently set at £13-15 per hour depending on experience, and is set to start ASAP.
For this role, you will:
- Have previous experience in maintenance or equivalent
- Have an excellent understanding of Health and Safety legislation, and able to react timely to urgent repairs
- Able to use own initiative
- Build great rapport with staff and senior managers within the school
- Enhanced DBS will be required for the role (this can be obtained through Reed)
- Full compliance process will need to be completed prior to starting this position
