SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive team. In this role, you will be instrumental in aiding students with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential and thrive within our learning environment.

Day to day of the role:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one or small group support to students with various needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons that cater to individual student needs, modifying materials as necessary.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor student progress, keeping detailed records, and communicate any concerns or observations to the SEN Coordinator.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification, such as a Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with SEN, demonstrating a track record of compassionate and effective support.
  • Exceptional patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse educational needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
