General Practice Manager

NXTGEN is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic General Practice Manager to join a well-established Accountancy firm based near Bury St Edmunds. As the new General Practice Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, guiding them through every stage of their business journey-from tax advice to annual accounts and audit. You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional service and building long-lasting client relationships. This role is ideal for someone looking to apply their expertise in a general practice setting while enjoying a diverse range of responsibilities. You will work closely with sole traders, partnerships, and non-audit limited companies, handling everything from Inheritance Tax, Tax issues to VAT advisory work. You will be in constant contact with clients both over the phone and face-to-face, which is a key part of the role, allowing you to build strong relationships and identify new areas of advice. You will also be responsible for reviewing work, reporting to Directors, and leading client meetings to discuss annual accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a broad portfolio of clients, including mostly sole traders, partnerships, and non-audit limited companies.
  • Engage in regular client interaction, both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Review work produced by junior staff members.
  • Provide guidance on PAYE and VAT issues within the portfolio.
  • Work closely with Directors and support them with development and progression of junior staff members.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in a general practice role.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to manage and build strong client relationships.
  • Proficiency in handling complex questions.
