You are able to work tactically and think strategically as the business rapidly scales. You understand how integral you are to the success and future of DigiHaul and the part you play in transforming the transport industry.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Target key customers to gain access to key decision makers and establish a new business pipeline
  • Continuously review opportunities and identify new potential business leads
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers
  • Conduct market research to identify new and potential customers whilst growing a new business pipeline
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new clients, understanding their full needs and requirements to provide suitable profitable solutions
  • Present solution proposal and business fit to internal decision makers
  • Facilitates hand over from solution team to project implementation team, internal stakeholder management
  • Conduct opportunity assessment for identified opportunities, develop recommendation on pursuit/cancellation based on financial, risk and fit of customer requirements
  • Update sales pipeline within CRM noting major contacts, actions, solution proposals
  • Present solutions to customer demonstrating clear business value, engage in negotiations to deal award
  • Management of internal Post-Opportunity Review on any lost sales leads
  • Stay updated on Industry development and maintain a thorough understanding of competitive landscapes
  • Prepare and present regular reports on Business Development activities in line with MBR sessions

What do you need to be a Business Development Manager?

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Multi year experience in Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Proven track record in business development
  • Solution Design and/or Tender compilation experience
  • In-depth knowledge of UK road and logistics market, including current trends
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decisions markers
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and deadlines
  • Experience in developing 3PL/4PL sales solutions
  • Self motivated and result orientated mindsets. The ability to adopt to changing market conditions
