We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our Client's Residential New Homes Department. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Head of Department, Conveyancers, and Junior Paralegal, assisting with the conveyancing of new build homes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adaptable to peak times and changing operational requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist with issuing quotes, opening new files, and onboarding clients using our App.
  • Handle queries from clients, developers, and brokers via telephone or email.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as photocopying and scanning.
  • Update developer spreadsheets and work lists on OneDrive.
  • Maintain our App, ensuring key stages are met and assisting clients with any App-related queries.
  • Check initial client documentation and identify necessary procedures for each case.
  • Obtain satisfactory evidence of funds to satisfy AML regulations and carry out Money Laundering ID checks.
  • Request payment on account from clients and check draft Contract documentation.
  • Arrange Search Insurance or obtain necessary searches depending on client/lender requirements.
  • Send standard correspondence to clients and draft Stamp Duty Land Tax forms.
  • Confirm exchanges with clients and solicitors and advise clients when notice to complete has been served.
  • Obtain OS2 and Bankruptcy searches, order ISA/LISA funds, and redemption statements from lenders.
  • Set up completions with the Accounts Department and provide clients with completion statements.
  • Ensure submission and payment of SDLT to HMRC upon completion.
  • Arrange completion letters to clients and solicitors, and submit END1s/DS1s to lenders.
  • Submit the AP1 and manage the Post Completion spreadsheet on OneDrive.
  • Assist with training new Paralegals/Junior Paralegals to Departmental standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSE's or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Proactive and self-organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and adapt to business needs.
  • Competence in the effective use of ICT.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience within residential conveyancing is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
