National Supply Chain Data Assistant

The candidate will be a highly driven and process-oriented individual who has experience working within a fast-paced supply chain environment. They will be focused on delivering the highest level of service to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the advancement of the current supply chain strategy. Preferred relevant experience includes domestic and/or international freight solution design, although this is not mandatory.

The Supply Chain Data Assistant will be accountable for investigating and nominating solutions when compared against a Suppliers' existing solution as well as designing new solutions for routes to market. The candidate will utilise a suite of options to design the optimum inbound supply chain and use commercial and strategic logic and reasoning to provide a holistic recommendation.

Excellent attention to detail and time management of the day-to-day workload will be essential to achieving the teams' key performance indicators (KPIs). It is vital to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment to the NSCM strategy.

Your New Role:

  • Analysing, challenging and proposing alternative solutions to existing Supply Chains for ALDI's Suppliers
  • Designing and building new Supply Chain solutions for ALDI's Suppliers
  • Analysis of complex data and commercial factors in order to provide balanced and resilient solutions
  • Developing and maintaining constructive working relationships with external partners
  • Performing administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving invoices, presenting to the wider management or Director team and aiding in the making of key business decisions
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with Logistics Service providers (LSPs) in order to maximise operational efficiency
  • Negotiating costs on inbound transport rates to remain competitive in the market
  • Close liaison with the NSCM Operational team to ensure strategic alignment
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to collaborate and consult on critical business matters
  • Identifying ways to secure the resilience of supply chain operations
  • Developing ways to improve supply chain performance in the future in accordance with anticipated external challenges
  • Identifying ways of generating cost and efficiency savings through the development of new processes and practices
  • Keep updated with market changes and react to maintain supply chain operational performance
  • Wider responsibilities such as attending team meetings and meetings to help determine the direction of the team and wider business
  • Continuously update knowledge and understanding by attending regular training on various topics

About You:

  • Articulate and numerate
  • Clear communication skills across all levels of the business
  • Experience working in a logistics or supply chain role
  • A good working knowledge of international supply chains and freight shipment management
  • Computer literate including strong office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook
  • Ability to interpret and perform analysis on numerical data
