Customer Care Assistant (Temporary)

Our public sector client is seeking a Customer Care Assistant to join their team based in Aberdeen. This is a temporary position starting on 10th June to 4th July to help with the upcoming general election. Working Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (exception 4th July 6.00am to 10.30pm) 37 hours per week and the salary is £12.60 per hour.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To ensure that all enquiries made to the Customer Response Team, are handled appropriately and effectively, with first class customer care. The post holder will play a key role in the digital and assisted digital programme ensuring that customers are supported where required and access services in a manner appropriate for their needs. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication and digital skills, work to a high level of accuracy and have a strong customer service ethos.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handling enquiries
  • Answering incoming calls
  • Performing administrative functions
  • Updating customer accounts
  • Processing customer correspondence
  • Take payments
  • Perform end of day banking procedures in a secure manner
  • Correct processing or electronic transactions and calculations
  • Answer social media enquiries
  • Scan documents
  • Monitor email inboxes
  • Update multiple systems at same time

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a customer facing role
  • Able to meet service targets both individual and as a team
  • Adept at using standard ICT packages, such as the Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Able to relate to people at all levels
  • Experienced in handling difficult / emergency situations
  • Able to use own initiative and work unsupervised
  • Travel as required in relation to the needs of the Service
  • Work at alternative locations as required
