Your new role
As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the finance department, ensuring the smooth operation of all financial activities. You will support the Purchase Ledger/Finance Assistant and Sales Ledger Assistant, and produce procedures for the Accounts department. Your role will include cash control to support the Financial Controller on cash flow, monthly journals, and monthly checks of the trial balance and nominal ledger. Additionally, you will prepare reports to support the Financial Controller, handle VAT quarterly, manage wage queries and upload payments to the bank, and oversee the monthly payment run. This is a full time role, working Monday to Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm and finishing at 3pm on Fridays.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to have substantial experience in a similar finance management position. Strong knowledge of financial procedures, cash control, and monthly financial reporting is essential. You should be proficient in handling VAT returns, wage queries, and payment processing. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the finance team are crucial. A proactive approach and the ability to support and guide junior team members will also be key to your success.
