Seymour John is thrilled to be working in partnership with a well-established business in the Telford area that has seen significant growth in recent times and is at an exciting point to expand their IT department, with the appointment of an IT apprentice.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated A-Level graduate to join the IT team as an apprentice. You will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while working towards recognised industry certifications.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will build up your knowledge and experience to be responsible for:
Technical Support:
- Provide first-line technical support to users across production, warehouse, and office locations, assisting with hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot common problems related to inventory systems, barcode scanners, weighing scales, and other specialized equipment.
- Create and maintain user accounts and permissions for various systems, including those related to traceability and quality control.
System Administration:
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software applications
- Monitor system performance and identify potential problems
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures
Network Services:
- Assist with network troubleshooting and maintenance across the production, warehouse, and office locations.
- Learn about network protocols and topologies specific to the industry, including wireless networks used in fields and warehouses.
- Help set up and configure new network devices, such as access points and switches.

Personal Profile
We are looking to speak with career-driven, ambitious individuals who have a keen interest in a career in IT. No previous experience is required for this role, however, we are looking for candidates to have good communication and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, and most importantly a real desire to learn and develop their knowledge. Ideally, you will have A-Levels or equivalent in relevant subjects (i.e Computing, Mathematics, Media) but we are happy to consider candidates from other courses too.
Due to the location, own transport is essential
