The opportunity
Director of Finance and Operations required for an Academy in Manchester for a period of 3 months, this could also be a permanent hire longer term.
The Role
The Director of Finance & Operations will work as part of the Senior Leadership team and be responsible for the financial operations of the Academy. This will include:
- Implement and monitor a Financial plan.
- Prepare Trusts annual budget and forecasts.
- Produce monthly management accounts.
- Develop cost efficient plans and look for value for money.
- Submit all financial returns.
- Ensure financial and operations systems are compliant.
- Manage the governance framework of the Trust.
- Keep Leadership Team and Board up to date with financial areas.
- Lead and coordinate the estates plan.
- Operational oversight of capital projects liaising with DfE/ESFA and others.
- Manage outsourced catering function.
- Lead on the Trusts risk management strategy.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety.
- Strategic management of ICT.
- Undertake the role of Data Protection Officer.
- Lead the HR function.
The Person
The ideal Director of Finance and Operations will be:
- School Business Manager accredited.
- A qualified accountant is desirable.
- Have experience of working in education or public sector.
- Experience of managing estates or capital projects.
- Experienced managing budgets.
- Excellent at working with stakeholders internally and externally.
