We are working with an established London based company who are engaged by national energy suppliers supporting the continued national role out and installation of Smart Meters. You will be working in a small, centralised team monitoring and supporting national Smart Meter projects.
You will provide quantity surveying support to the Project Manager to ensure the Subcontractors deliver the projects in line with their contractual requirements. This will include auditing of submitted quotes for individual cases and validating costs against the agreed design.
You will:
Review each job order/cost proposals ensuring that the costs being proposed by the subcontractors in line with the approved design.Working closely with the Design Manager you will ensure the design offers the most cost effective solution.Assist in the procurement process by validating material schedules, evaluating quotes from 3rd party suppliers.Monitor project expenditures against established budgets, identifying potential cost overruns or savings opportunities. Take proactive measures to manage costs while maintaining project quality and integrity.Monitor subcontractor performance and hold them to account against their contractual deliverables.Identify potential risks associated with project cost and propose mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety protocols.Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, cost tracking, change orders, and relevant correspondence.
You will have:
A relevant Construction/QS Degree or commensurate experience. Previous experience in a similar role within the metering industry, electric meter rooms, or LV cable management systems.
