Health & Safety Advisor

Position: Health & Safety Advisor

Salary: Up to £45,000 + Benefits

Location: Central/City of London

Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Health and Safety team. As a tier 1 company, health and safety is promoted across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • To actively foster and maintain a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the organisation, while supporting the company's SHE objectives by recognising and encouraging best practices. This generally involves assisting the Health & Safety department at both the Head Office and across the company's high-profile client base.
  • To oversee and assess site performance through routine inspections and audits. This includes developing site-specific risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH assessments, as well as carrying out DSE and noise evaluations when required.
  • To provide in-depth training sessions to site personnel on essential Health & Safety topics, such as Permit to Work training and Health & Safety inductions for new employees. The candidate should be experienced in conducting training sessions for other staff members.
  • To ensure thorough implementation of the company's accident reporting process, including assisting with the completion of accident and near-miss reports. This will necessitate communication with external organisations, such as the HSE or auditors.
  • To support the maintenance of all Health & Safety accreditation's and awards that the company needs to demonstrate and enhance its Health & Safety capabilities.
  • To participate in and lead regular meetings and events with both internal and external stakeholders as required by the company.

Essential:

  • A good basic understanding with at least GCSEs in math and english (Equivalent accepted)
  • Must have a NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role/environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literate
