Surveying Manager

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a local housing association which exists to meet housing need in the communities in Surrey, for an experienced Surveying Manager on a 4-month temporary basis. This is a full-time role and offers flexible hybrid working.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Responsible for managing the surveying function, ensuring effective resource planning and allocation to ensure adequate resources are in place to deliver programmes effectively Lead, manage and motivate a team of generic, yet multi-disciplined surveyors, to deliver a comprehensive service to tenant and leasehold residents
  • Develop and sustain long term strategic relationships with our key partners in delivering a resident focused programme for the day-to-day operational delivery of responsive repairs, voids, compliance, planned and cyclical programmes in accordance with contractual specification, quality, and resident satisfaction requirements
  • Contributing to the management of our delivery to ensure statutory obligations are met through ensuring specifications for work consider our statutory obligations in relation to fire risk, control of legionella, asbestos, gas, electrics, lifts, fire protection, CDM and estate safety
  • Ensure that applicable health and safety regulations are applied in all aspects of the responsibilities held
  • Act as the primary surveying lead on all operational building surveying and maintenance related services, including responsive repairs, short- and long-term voids, planned maintenance, servicing and statutory contracts, and programmed contract works
  • Provide professional and technical advice on all construction and building maintenance issues for all surveying colleagues, and to be the point of escalation for all technical matters arising during routine repair or contract works
