About the Role:

As the Fostering IRO Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational delivery of the Fostering Team. You will lead a team of HCPC Registered and unregistered staff, ensuring compliance with legislation and local policies while prioritizing the best outcomes for children in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Team Manager in all aspects of team operations, including workload allocation, maintaining professional standards, and staff supervision and development.
  • Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality services in line with legislative requirements and local policies, promoting a culture of learning and practice development.
  • Mentor and coach staff, providing regular supervision and setting developmental targets to enhance individual performance and skills.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes, good practice guidance, and local policies, disseminating this information within the team.
  • Develop and maintain team plans and objectives aligned with the wider business plan, ensuring compliance and identifying practice development needs.
  • Write complex reports and briefing papers on policy and operational issues, actively participating in meetings and case conferences.
  • Ensure team members fulfil statutory responsibilities, policies, and standards, maintaining compliance with Equality and Diversity policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff selection processes, ensuring adherence to equalities legislation, good practice guidance, and Council procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of health and safety within the workplace, ensuring the safety of staff, clients, and others at all times.

Requirements:

  • CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supervising professional staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job's responsibilities.
