Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:

This role involves the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems across the educational establishment's campus and grounds. You will be responsible for creating and improving HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical infrastructure. The role also includes overseeing renovations, upgrades, and ensuring that all mechanical systems operate efficiently to support both educational and administrative functions.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Main Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for buildings across the campus, including HVAC, plumbing, and other infrastructure
  • Collaborate with facilities management to assess, upgrade, and maintain existing mechanical systems
  • Conduct energy efficiency analyses and propose improvements to reduce operational costs
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all mechanical designs and installations
  • Support renovation and construction projects by providing mechanical engineering expertise
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for project execution
  • Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met

Mechanical Design Engineer – You:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in designing and managing mechanical systems, preferably in a large estate or campus environment
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with building services systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of energy-efficient design and sustainability practices
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards in building infrastructure
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
