Fleet & Procurement Manager – Competitive Salary - Based In Eye, Suffolk – Monday to Friday – Permanent - Day Shift

Role Overview

:

Hales Group is seeking a highly experienced Fleet Engineer specializing in commercial vehicle procurement and maintenance for a well-regarded client. This senior role is pivotal in managing their extensive fleet of over 150 vehicles and 250 trailers, as well as serving their external customers.

Key Responsibilities

:

  • Manage procurement processes, vendor contracts, and approve requisitions.
  • Monitor financial expenses to ensure they align with approved budgets.
  • Ensure technical and non-technical staff receive necessary training.
  • Implement new projects and produce incident and performance reports for senior managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all current legislation and regulations.
  • Prepare operational reports detailing financials, performance, KPIs, incidents, and accidents.
  • Oversee the 24/7 operations of our workshop, managing a team of technicians led by a Workshop Manager.
  • Plan and implement schedules, objectives, and policy changes in collaboration with other managers and staff.
  • Ensure all fleet maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the premises and ensure all tools and equipment meet Health and Safety standards.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Ensure staff compliance with company rules, safety procedures, and government regulations.
  • Supervise employees responsible for tariffs, billing, and scheduling.
  • Maximize customer satisfaction by reviewing procedures and working with management.
  • Attend management meetings as required.

Qualifications and Skills

:

  • Strong technical ability and attention to detail, with experience in auditing work and reviewing high-value estimates.
  • Strong background in HGV mechanics with experience in fleet procurement and vendor contracts.
  • Extensive knowledge of service, maintenance, and repair activities for heavy commercial vehicle fleets, including 'O' Licence and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in managing internal workshops and external maintenance suppliers within the HGV maintenance industry.
  • Excellent leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in IT for data analysis and trend identification.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Commitment to quality and compliance, with a focus on continuous improvement.
